About items_game.txt editing!

I always had fun with editing items_game.txt, making the eyelander give you +1500hp and other tings. It worked only for singleplayer but that is only good thing.

BUT, now Valve has added "items_game.sig" to the folder, and the items_game.txt can't be edited without a game launch error. I know that is because everybody had australiums and unusual in signleplayer -mode. But this just... sucks. I cant no more have fun with Team Fortress 2.

Now I'm questing Valve to make something that will make us allowed to edit the weapon stats for single player.
(If Valve likes money, I'm sure that allowing this will make some players buy/get more weapons.)

!Valve couls make like this: Put things what you don't want to be changable (hats, miscs, taunts etc.) and lock that list uneditable. So we can edit those weapon stats in singleplayer mode. Or
then just make some editor, some kind of.

as long as they stick it to singleplayer ( and don't accidently mess it up so Multi get's affected as well ) i see no isues with this :)

I find it silly because your modified items_game file will revert to the original file once you enter your first online match after a game launch and must restart it in single player to be able to use the modified items_game file again. Of course there are very few people who found ways around it for equip regions/undetectable hacks etc. And its because of them Valve must now punish everyone. I did a lot of single player modifications myself and its a shame I can no longer use/update it when im not in the multiplayer mood. :-(

They did it because it was possible to transfrom items like giftapults into keys,also it could remove miscs limitations like yo ucanpt wear hat a with hat b

Why did they remove it from the singleplayer mode?! And miscs limatations sucks, we can't easily test ourself made hats now! What is wrong with a player seeing bill's hat on his head in singleplayer mode? Or cant valve just take those things to another list and just lock it.

to look at yourself go to any server with a 3rd person mode or somethign wtih sv_cheats should give you othat option in singleplayer

editing txt files has nothing to do with looking at yourself


and how are they supposed to remove a general thing form multi but not from single
how are they supposed to allow you to change everythign but deny you to change everything ( such as creating keys out of nowhere )

if you say you can alter this and that only to this and that there willl still be a creative way around the limitations ( there alway is ) - nothing can be fully limited if you leave as much as a single gap to work with

there is no middle in this

it's either allow or deny

since people abused the ♥♥♥♥ out of it - the only logic answer is to deny
unless people have willpower enough to not be scrubs it won't ever come back
