Changing sound output device
Hello, guys.
Is there any way to change sound output device, but not via changing default in Windows sound manager?
I want to hear the game sound from my Logitech g35 (USB connected), but not from speakers (3.5mm connected).
Like console command or changing config.cfg or smth like that?
Thanks.

it doesn't solve the problem, cause i need both headphones and speakers been plugged in: in games i use headphones, in webserf, youtube etc i use speakers.
So the question is if is it possible to change sound device in TF2 from Windows default to one i need.

well you could always just plug the speakers back in, or if they're part of the computer unplug your headphones.

jesus... i need both headphones and speakers be plugged at the same time, but activity depends on the running application. So the question was how to make headphones active in TF2 while speakers are active on desktop.
plugging/unplugging is a rather stupid solution, don't you think? PCs were made to make our life easer. There is no need to find a way to refute it. Including climbing behind my pc in dust and discomfort every time i need to redirect sound stream from one device to another.

use voicemeter and change your headphones to a1 and your speakers to a2, then make the default output of the specific application in windows settings the voicemeter output (one aux and one normal) and set normal to a1 and aux to a2 (you can switch it if you want)

ik this post is almost 8 years old but idc
Another easier solution is by using Ear Trumpet and opening up ear trumpet in your system tray, right click HLF2 (tf2) then click the left and right arrow, which brings up a menu of your available audio outputs, select your headphones and HLF2 (tf2) will move to your headphones output
