"Ice Client", a 3rd Party that enables Android Users to Trade
I believe I have enough rep to post links, but feel free to Google this information for yourselves I'd you don't trust me. <3

So I opened a discussion earlier today about trading through Android and iOS devices. Some quick Google-fu between another forumite and myself led us to "Ice Client" a Google play app that is apparently as reliable as Gaben's glasses.

The only problem is, I'm don't trust 3rd parties with my 100$ backpack, and it seems that sentiment is shared by most people: the client only had about 1000-5000 users. Those users will swear that the client has given them no problems, but I was personally wondering if any of you have 1.) Heard of this website before and 2.) if you have used it.

Ice Client (via Google Play) -- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aegamesi.steamtrade
Steam Thread about Ice -- http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3222440

Notice the reviews. The most recent were put up only days ago, and they are almost all 4-5 stars. None of the 1 star reviews say anything about losing items, but rather failure to log in through Steam.

I would be all up for using this app, but it does require your steam username and password. That sets off some red flags, but no one has anything negative to say about the new update, or losing their items via this app.

NOTE: Google Play Store has to be installed on your device before you can download Ice Client. iPhones, iPods, and Kindles must be rooted before Ice is available.

Please excuse grammatical errors; autocorrect is a bitch.

After hearing about false review scams on Amazon, I'm not trusting any small third party applications with something as important as my credit card details or Steam account. Sure, it might be safe - or it could not be. It's a gamble. The question is, are you willing to risk it all?

But with the new email confirm failsafe, it is nigh-impossible to hijack someone's account without first hacking their email.

Even with my login info, the most they could do was leave mean comments on the forums. My inventory would be safe.

I would probably transfer some items I could risk losing to an alt and login to Ice through that alt. I wouldnt give my main account login info away without first being positive it was safe.

Can't blame you for that.

Apparently, the Kindle has to be rooted to download Google Play store. Every other Android device comes with it.

I am aware that they can only get my items with my email hacked, but still slighty risky.

Hey, I'm the guy who created Ice. I can assure you that Ice doesn't steal your items or login info-- and you can check for yourself! If you know Java, feel free to browse the source code of Ice on GitHub: https://github.com/aegamesi/SteamTrade/

Lemme know if you have any questions, and happy trading!

Beautiful, thanks mate. I've had to root my kindle (damn Amazon programmers deleted Google Play out of the kindle source code), but everything seems to be working fine with your app. I haven't used it extensively on my main account for security reasons, but I have completed/sent multiple trade offers on alternate accounts.

Aww, that's a shame about Amazon... but thank you for the support!

I've been using this client for just over a week now and all of my items remain, having over 110k in items I was first as scared as you but this fear soon cleared. No problems carrying out trades, messaging mates and certainly no attempts at scamming items. Building what has been previously said this company could not take any items without access to email too so the risk is little to none. I hope I have helped :)
