So how many Medic Mains are realy out there?
This is something, especially in TF2Center, that i have noticed and is sadly something that i still find somewhat fascinating.

The lack of players who actively play Medic no matter what it be, public server or tf2center lobby.

Meanwhile (though i've said it before) there are at least ten sniper and/or spy mains per medic main, with other classes being mixed here and there, and i won;t even talk about heavy :sentry:

So my question i pose to you denizens of the tf2 community is this, how many of you know a medic main player (such as myself) who actively spends most of their tf2 playtime being medic simply because they like it and/or are good at it?

And if you are a medic main, your opinion on the lack of medic mains or do you even notice it or don't care?

come on medic needs more love, besides respect.

I'll be honest no one I know mains med. They're usually sniper, scout , demo and pocket/roamer solly mains. I just stick near them because I have no skill :( :D

Speaking of which, what about the Vacc? I haven't heard about the Vacc in a while. (I still think it can be a viable weapon guyz :D)

I'm a medi main, and I can say that the severe lack of good players willing to protect me is very discouraging.

I agree when i am a medic noone protects me when i heal them.
Being a medic main is hard because there is always that one scout targetting you with fancy lime/pink cosmetics and hats.
I main all classes so I would count ...right?

I remember seeing a poll once to give an idea of how much of the community mains a certain class, with a chart. Heavy is the least mained (the percentage was in the single digit). Medic only had slightly more...

I pocket my good friend that mains ...pocket solly (WITH THE VACC, VACC MASTER RACE)
It's good fun to topscore by kill leeching. Chances are, if you want a good heal target, pick the guy that's topscore.(Exception=That guy is me/A support/ a engi) That guy likely has more experience than other people on the server. Otherwise- stop playing medic and carry the team :D(Unless you're me and can't carry)

I notice, but I don't really care too much for it. What people want and how to play is just what feels more comfortable to them.

Playing a first person shooter and then not getting to shoot people is kind of boring tbh. Alot of the time in pubs, people simply pass the ball to someone else instead of going med themselves, because they dont enjoy it. Sniper and spy look very cool, and people look at their oneshot mechanics and go "wow, this class sure is the best".

People don't want to play Medic because it is a very passive experience.

You're pretty much tethered to your patients, following them around like a dog on a leash; there's not a lot to it once you work out your triage priorities and figure out which obstacle you want to spend your uber to overcome.

TBH Medic really needs a combat-medic build that lets you heal a patient by dealing damage to the enemy; that way you're not squandering a good player healing bads.

Also, Vaccinator's resistance-switching minigame adds some interest to playing Medic - at least for me, anyway.

Medic is my third most played class and I'm playing as him quite often since last month.
When I pick medic, my teammates start to pick him too... Maybe because they see me top scoring and "Oh, medic is good!"
