LAN Game?
Ok not sure if this is the correct section, I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a game in LAN mode for 2 players using a router, is it just a matter of plugging both computers into the router, going to create server then inviting the second player, would the created server come up in the LAN list for the other player?

Thanks in Advance.

Not really had much joy on google :(

So just to make this clear...

I plug computer 1 into the router, create a server by clicking the + button on the tf2 menu

And then once I have done that I can plug computer 2 into the router.

Open servers click the LAN tab on computer 2 and the server I just created on computer 1 will be visible on computer 2 also.

No need for any extra stuff like an actual psychical server, 2 PCs and a router are enough..

Correct?

Hope this makes sense :gordon::gordon::gordon:

I was able to do this earlier on a fresh computer with TF2 with no custom maps. Ever since I downloaded mandatory maps for some servers, my LAN game doesn't show up in Computer's 2 LAN tab. How 2 fix?

Sorry mate I can't help you, you could try checking that the maps are installed on all the computers you are running within the LAN

Yea LAN works. Just Open the servers menu and go to LAN. One of youguys need to start a LAN server which you can do in the LAN section of the servers menu. Then all of your friends connect to the same internet modem and got o the LAN section and find your server. For this, you can be online or offline.

Click on 'find a game' in the top right hand corner & 'create server' will be at the bottom, hope this helps.
