There's also a thing called story vs game limitations/segregations. Some things need to be..... Phased out as it were, for one or the other. Imagine how many horror games wouldn't make much sense if in story everyone had infinite ammo, for example. In game you might, but in the story itself, chances are the characters would be scrounging around for the stuff.
Pyro Robots might just be very expensive to make flame retardent, that, or it wouldn't be fair to have it ingame for all robots. Give Pyro a chance to do something.
Think about it. If the mercs are the best in the world, wouldn't it make sense to make them face themselfes? Granted, I think he took too much in terms of personality. *The Scout bots for example seem to show the tack and grace of the original* but from a mental viewpoint, wouldn't you be concerned that there is a whole robot clone version of you trying to take you down?
for example, lets look at the robot spy
it is loud and constantly gives itself away
and if the knife is the only thing it needs (along with disguises and cloak), why does it have 2 arms, a head, and legs? seriously, it could get a lot out of replacing loud legs with a wheel (like the medibot), taking off the head and left arm (just put the eye camera on the chest), and becoming completely silent
He even mimics their downsides for no apparent reason; what benefit is it for him to make faster Heavy bots that take extra damage anyway? Heck, he can make robots that repair themselves over time. That's pretty outstanding mechanical genius right there! So why don't all his robots share this trait?
I think the fact that Gray's horde of machines couldn't topple nine kooky mercenaries is either a testament to the Team's skill or Gray's incompetence.
Or gray mann is just wasting the mercs time while he develops better robots.
Inb4 robo-scout bikes with MMPH pyros on top, soldier with deadly sniper aiming skills and rockets as fast as bullets, and a heavy fused with a tank.
