Why is the Lenny Face ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) everywhere in TF2?

Almost every server I go on, there is always at least 1 person that types "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" in the chat constantly, there are even servers where half the players are overusing the Lenny Face or editing it.

Like seriously, what gives with the Lenny Face? Why is everyone using it? Does it even have a meaning?

I always come to think that i'm the only one that find this eartating as hell because really it's just unnecercery spam and is no where near funny whatsoever. It's incredible that players that over use it don't even get muted.
