Hmm. Yeah, that's true, but Jarate can do the same thing and lets you use a primary that doesn't suck.
Also, you can still one-shot a Medic with the Sleeper, you just have to wait a couple seconds for it to charge up.
And it is Team Fortress 2
Honestly even without the headshots I still aim for the head.
Which would you prefer a Machina or sleeper?
But before everyone says "GAH WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" let me explain
With the Sydney Sleeper, you can (obviously) cover all classes with 25 shots of jarate if you wait the time for each.
It also has the damage of a stock fully charged body shot if you fully charge the shot
Meaning, even without fully charging the shot, you can cover them.
Covering them does mini crits
So really, if they're a class other than heavy and you charge your shots, you can probably kill whoever your trying to kill in 2 shots.
1 for the cover and damage, the other for the mini crit and damage (yet again)
So, to counter-oppose my argument about heavy being pretty much immune to Sydney Sleeper because of his health (following my reasoning of the Sydney Sleeper being OP), fully charging the shots you can take a non-overhealed heavy in 4 shots.
Taking that he is (in most cases) damaged first, probably 2 shots to kill.
Yeah, I think the Sydney is great, especially with the melee weapon for sniper that does crits when mini-crits (when the enemy is covered in Jarate *hint hint*), as well as with the Darwins Danger Shield, your kind of a force to be reckoned with.
Except for when you get killed by a scout.
Because your a sniper.
Basically saying, just keep your distance and stay safe and you'll be good.
Because it charges more quickly.
No offense, but you haven't even been playing the game for 1000 hours yet, so you really shouldn't be making such bold statements about weapons. Especially not Sniper when you haven't even been playing the class for 24 hours yet.
Also, I'm going to assume that you're playing on pubs, so optimal loadouts don't matter as much and players have much more leeway.
Besides, I'll take a Sydney Sleeper Sniper who can actually hit with the thing over the legions of Snipers who simply cannot headshot yet still try fruitlessly to do so all match long and accomplish nothing.
Do I count I have like 570 hours :3
No offense, but anyone can make their profile private and claim to have as many hours as they want in whatever class they want.
Not that I necessarily don't believe you, just sayin'.
Also, Comp TF2 is a very different animal from standard TF2.
also it "pisses" people off when you kill them with it, the joke alone is worth it for me :)
For fun? yeah. I like to play different playstyle and making people piss off, literally
the ss needs to be able to extinguish fire from teammates c'mon valve
My reasoning for why the SS is bad:
It has a much harder time killing. You still can, but its much harder. Now before you say "Its job is to support w/ Jarate not kill" I would rather have the enemy be dead then have Jarate on his sorry ass.
Example:
Enemy Medic is crossing the bridge on 2Fort with an Uber and a Heavy. WHAT DO YOU DO?
Regular Sniper pops his head like a cherry and then proceeds to get one more 150 headshot on the Heavy as he goes into your base hurt as hell.
SS Sniper aims, charges for a few seconds and then hits the Medic, possibly not even killing him but leaving him covered in pee. Medic is now free to pop Uber and survives.
That might just be me, though.
