But that requires getting on the actual server first. Which entirely missess the point.
I'm talking about when you're selecting them from the list on the title screen.
I just logged into the game again (because I'm apparently a giant sucker tonight). 3 more instant end servers.
What. The. Actual. F00k.
Pretty much all I got to do for the last hour was stare at the loading screen.
if their score is about 10 or 20 maximum then it is the beginning so i join
if their score is high like 50 or more then NO
it is a good trick for ctf maps
I often want to play some particular map, so it would be super handy to see how much map time is left. So that I can actually play the map I want. Just list it like:
SD_DOOMSDAY
Valve CTF / SD Server (Stockholm srcds150 #37)
24 minutes left
Or at least that information could be available in detailed server list where you get by clicking Servers in main menu. That list contains info like IP and Tags, but still no map time left. Only workaround is what Adnan mentioned, rightclick every server, choose View server info, and try to guess how long map have been played from top player's score. But this is just the stuff that computers should do for you! :-)
Date of last post is irrelevant when the situation is not resolved and still affecting other users. I realize it's not a trivial change / update to the product but I can't see how it's an impossibility either. If anything it would provide a better experience for the end user as they're able to make a better decision.
