tf2 itself is not
The text chat gives the vibes of Twitter
The voice chat gives the vibes of discord
The humor in this game gives the vibes of reddit
In this case, TF2 itself as a standalone product wouldn't be a reddit game, aside from lootboxes and cosmetics which where added later on.
Rather, most of the TF2 community, especially the very vocal r/tf2 side evidently is (obviously) very redditlike. This is the majority of the community which is why most modern mainstream TF2 content is similar to the type of stuff you would find on Reddit. Just go to any ♥♥♥♥♥♥ community server and you will likely be banned for saying something the owner disagrees with.
Despite this, there is still a sizeable and also vocal number of people who come from the "Wild West" days of the internet, which are the opposite of Redditors ideologically, but most of their content is either hated on by redditors, or banned from platforms entirely.
This describes it perfectly, especially with the game being free and can run on pretty much everything.
and me
That and "taking existing memes, insert tf2 class, wow funny because *point with wide open mouth* that's the heavy from game tf2"
Gmod videos are funny for a bit maybe, but lulrandom humor personally burns me out after a while, gets old. "I bet he's not going to do another zany this time. Oh look, he did how surprising. Skibbity tuft-2"
