Team Fortress 2
Lighting on playermodels/weapons/cosmetics bugged
So I was experiencing the weird "white eyes bug" in my efforts in trying to fix I tried. Deleting my cfg folder, putting -autoconfig in my launch options, and starting TF2. Disabled cloud sync, then removed -autoconfig from launch options.

This didn't work originally, so I fell back on it by just undoing, bringing back my cfg folder, but now for some reason when I open the game, the lighting on player models and any attachments to the player models (such as hats or weapons) is bland and dark. I had a lightwarp installed in my game, which stopped working after undoing the cfg folder deletion too, and I do not use mastercomfig. I even tried installing mastercomfig with max lighting settings, and it looks the exact same. I compared a screenshot with it enabled and one with it disabled.. I tried removing mods; no change. I tried deleting my config again; no change. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game; again, no change.

Is my version of TF2 just permanently bricked because I deleted something and brought it right back? Some help here would be

I recommend creating a backup of your TF2 folder before making changes like adding mods or editing files. If something goes wrong, you can easily restore everything using the backup. I’ve had issues before, and having a backup saved me when I accidentally made things worse.

Anyway, have you tried using a different lightwarp mod? It might help fix the black shading issue.

If that doesn’t work, you could check your Steam Cloud save files and edit the config.cfg to adjust the settings. Alternatively, you could ask people on gamebanana. They are more knowledgeable about these things rather than the average user here.

Hello! Thanks For The Help just a little bit after you posted this I managed to figure it out,
I'll post a "tutorial" in here just in case someone else needs it, but thanks for the help
TUTORIAL FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT: turns out the problem was even though I hadn't touched it it, my dxlevel was set to the lowest possible setting (which is in launch options) I set it to -dxlevel 90 which is the one that works for me, and after I did that I put the command "mat_dxlevel 90 in my config then got rid of -dxlevel 90 in the launch options (its best to do this cause theres a strange bug where if you have -dxlevel 90 in your launch options it resets your video settings everytime you launch the game, removing the tediousness of changing them everytime Hope This Helped Anyone!
