how to combine custom animations

so I've got animation overhauls that I use, they work of course but theirs certain ones that I would prefer to remove and others I want to keep. Like I use Kylul's medic overhaul and I love the medigun animations but I want to remove the custom crossbow and melee animations removed. Is that possible?

I've never done that before but I don't see how it wouldn't be possible. I think you'd have to open the vpk file, search, and figure out what file is what inside the vpk.

what if I use modboy? Ive been having trouble finding the mod files ive installed using modboy so would I have to redownload everything?

You wouldn't need to re-download everything. I think modboy places the vpks in the custom folder for you. It's been a while since I've modded tf2

You need crowbar for this. You need to go inside the vpk, de-compile the file inside and then replace the animation file of your choice.

thanks for the tutorial! I spent about an hour following it and realized I am way over my head and cannot understand it for the life of me lmao. I might have to try again in the future ig.
