how do i play pyro

i have gotten back on tf2 after a while and i feel like im doing significantly worse than before and i dont know how i can improve, i have the scorch shot, mailbox, and backburner

1. dont use scorch shot. its not fun to use or play againts (use detonator instead)
2. airblast IS the thing that makes pyro fun (imo) try to do it alot.
3. pyro is mainly a support character. you protect your team from spies, extinguish allies on fire, airrblast projectiles away, etc. stay with your team most of the time

Gotta look at pros & cons of the weapons.

Backburner is great for rear attacks due to the minu crits. But you get 4 airblasts total. (I limit myself to 2 so i have 100 ammo to fight)

Stock is my fave, great for reflecting rockets, grenades & arrows. Plus you get way more air blasts. Which is useful to stop charging demos and stopping heavys for a second by launching them into the air

Scorch is my fave secondary. Its more forgiving when aiming thanks to splash damage & after burn. Mini crits burning players. And it has a knockback.

Flare gun has the flare punch when you hit a burning player. 90 damage. Way harder to hit players at range. No splash damage.

I like the neon sign personally. I like the huge crit for when your in water. And the sapper removal.

Degreaser is good, way less afterburn, but faster response time.

Dragons fury is fun, but the flames can be air blasted.

Phlog is good too, no airblast at all. Mmmmph can be a beast in combat. I like phlog or fury for mvm.

When airblasting most pkayers aim at their feet. They shoot straight up like a rocket.

The more i play the more i start hanging back and do more def. Spy checking and remove sappers. Help the engys, when an engy actually defends intel instead of glitching spys into our respawn room.

Not sure if its an achievement, but its craftable with warpaints and it drops randomly. Or get one from the community market.

Yeah the Scorch Shot isn't fun the play against, it's just mindless spam. Use the Detonator instead which is also just mindless spam, but you won't get sent to HR if you equip it.

detonator takes 2 brain cells to use effectively as opposed to 1 for scorch. That's like twice the difficulty

i mean the detonator seems simple to use tho, just press right click when the flare is next to someone
