I think it's really weird that he considers it less likely that the naming scheme for source 2 ports changed or was not kept to than a new TF franchise installment being made.

In any case, I hope it's not TF3 because it won't be TF2, and I'm interested in TF2. If it is indeed a source 2 port, I predict that they will manage to somehow both decrease the performance and make the game look worse. This is because source 2 would need careful tweaking to not look washed out, overblown and too realistic, that's work that Valve won't do.

I hadn't even considered it, but they might just rerelease TF2 in the newer engine. I mean... that's what Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto. It's what most game companies are doing now.
