Its most likely because steam basically has a monopoly on selling games on PC. Other platforms don't even come close. That's why Epic is also giving away free games every week, most people would rather buy games on steam rather than Epic. Of course you're not gonna like someone that basically has all of your potential customers.

It would semi revive the game though. We would at most get a fortnite cosmetic and that's it. I also wouldn't want it in game but we could get a lot more players this way.

Ironically, Epic has seemingly been focusing on stealing customers off Steam instead of providing a proper service. It's odd that they try to compete against Steam with freebies, better payouts for devs and exclusives, while the store didn't have a shopping cart for way too long. They excuse it with the fact that Steam also started out small and grew larger, but shopping carts are a basic feature nowadays lol.

You are right though. Basically everyone is on Steam, and those with their own launcher (like Ubisoft and Bethesda) also figured out that there's no point to not be on Steam as well. However, there are alternatives, like GoG (which has its own appealing features with its no DRM stuff), and aside from the rocky start and the fact that it doesn't try to differentiate itself from Steam (it seems they literally just want to be Steam, but better), Epic doesn't seem that terrible anymore.

Actually, they're made for eachother. Two garbages for one big landfill.

I'd rather have Half-Life 2 in it so that little kids know who the real Gman is.
