My game won't stop freezing after this new update thingy, anyone else experiecing the same?

So every time I play the game now I get a lag spike and when that lag spike occurs my game completely freezes for around 15 seconds, after that 15 seconds is up the game "loads" everything, but my screen or something. I can hear everything going on in the present of the game, but my screen will not update and I have to close TF2 entirely. I don't know if this is a new bug or something else, I've done a lot like check my files, pc, if everything is up to date and now the only thing left is to uninstall and then reinstall, but I wanted to check if any of y'all had any answers :)
