Team Fortress 2
What does Trimping mean?
And I'm not asking as in "how do I trimp", I mean like, what does the word stand for? Is it an acronym? Where did it come from? etc.

trimping is when your character bounces on steep slopes and other map geometry at a specific angle to maintain speed

demoknight shield charges and rocket jump rollouts make the most use of it, but any class can trimp if they can gain enough speed

I believe it's a portmanteau for "trick jumping". From what I could gather it originated in Fortress Forever as a form of bhopping.

Freedom:
Picking demoknight
Looking for a ramp
This feeling of thinking how you have to fly.
Run, jump, boost, fly.
When trimping
You feel like a peaceful bird for a second or 2. Until you transform into an eagle, charging towards your victim.

I could write a 1000word essay on what trimpin is or means.
You have to do it yourself. It's pure intuition

I'm asking about the word itself, not actually how to trimp.

trimping in the context of tf2 is ramp sliding basically, it's just the term that for whatever reason demoknight players prefer to use instead of what it actually is since the principle of how it works is exactly the same
