Golden Wrench?
Is there a way to get the golden wrench or if people would trade it?

...Yup. We got this question.

gg no re.

If we're talking about the ACTUAL Golden Wrench, It's from an update YEARS AGO. With absolutely no way of trading it away. Plus only 78 in existance I believe.

Now Australium Wrenches are obtainable, but you better prepare for a lot of grinding or atleast have a sizeable wallet because Playing MvM Two Cities Non-stop will bore you but atleast better than paying ike $40 for a Shiny Metal Object.

I was refering to the actual golden wrench, the one that turns people into gold statues. Why so little in existance?

@Neonik, let me answer your question with a question. What do some people do to special items when they get bored of it? They delete it, they were 100 of them & 30% of them got destroyed. It cannot be obtained anymore unless your going for the Australium variant or the Golden Frying Pan (which can be painfully hard to get).

Well, not exactly. People deleted their wrenches because some dude decided that, for every golden wrench deleted, he would donate money to charity or something. So, some people did just that. Anyway, I'm not sure how true it is, since I wasn't around for it, but it makes sense.

Why would people destroy it if theres a limited amount of it? Why cant we get it anymore?

Part of it was because Valve only planned to release 100 and there was a (not-so) random chance to get one. This caused some controversy[www.toptiertactics.com] and the community decided to do something about it, with some Valve support even.

And thus, there were charities. Golden Wrench owners offered to destroy their wrenches for donations to Child's Play. It was pretty rad.

The whole destroying the golden wrench for charity sounds awesome and restores some faith in humanity, but why only 100 golden wrenches and have this event once?

The wrenches were in preparation for the Engineer update. Every 25 wrenches, something would be revealed; once they hit 100, the update would be released. Valve's intent was to keep these items ultra-rare and they appear to be holding that up.

Aside from Australium Wrenches and the superior Golden Pan, of course.

So there won't be anything else, like let's say a golden Bonesaw or Bat?

Does the frying pan turn people gold?

Off-topic question, I got a Tour of Duty ticket and can't find an official Mann Up. server. Where do I find it?

Nope. The closest we'll probably get are these Australium weapons.

Does the frying pan turn people gold?
Yes. The Golden Frying Pan, Golden Wrench, and the Saxxy trophy are the only items that turn people to gold, I believe.

Mann Up servers should be found in the Co-Op menu. I hear Valve servers have gone kaput for the moment, however.

Oh cool, can the Engi use the Golden frying pan and Saxxy?

Kiiiiick ass.

Another off topic question, what difficulty does MvM have to be to get a gold weapon?

Let me first state that Australium weapons are rare rewards for completing the Two Cities Tour, which spans across four missions. There's no guarantee that you'll get one after your first try.

That said, I believe that the tour's difficulty is Advanced, which floats somewhere between "average challenge" and "gnashing of teeth".
A Trap May 19, 2014 @ 8:39am
I wasn't really expecting one after my first try, but it would be pretty cool.

It's automatically set to Advanced?

Can Australium weapons be traded?
