Team Fortress 2
TF2 makes me feel... lightheaded?
I know this is gonna sound pretty strange but, oh well, I need to know what the heck this is.

So i've been playing TF2 for while, ever since the Mann Co. update, and when i first started playing it, i experienced a very big feeling of lightheadedness and confusion after a few minutes of play, however, after messing around with resolution, FOV settings, and mouse speed, the feeling seemed to have subsided, but it never exactly disappeared completely, i tried to mess with those settings until the feeling went away completely, but no matter what i changed it either just made it worse or just made it slightly bearable, so i gave up.

However, it did make me feel curious to find out if i felt this when playing other FPS games, and, for some reason, none of them do, even when i mess with their FOV and resolution settings as much as i can, it's only TF2 that makes me feel lightheaded to the point where I can't concentrate.

What the hell is this?

No wonder i failed all my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ math tests after playing this god forsaken game.
(seriously though, some actual help would be welcomed)
If it's motion sickness, then it's probably FOV: Move your monitor further away from your eyes and make sure it's at eye-level - if you're using a 16:9 monitor you probably want 90 degrees FOV.

Double check your framerate and your screen's update rate - flicker can cause discomfort. Consider putting V-sync on as a last resort incase the flicker of page-tearing is making you woozy.

If you're using Pyro-vision, disable the special-effect borders in the options (or quit using it) - the peripheral haze it creates can cause headaches.

You need to get use to this if you EVER want to get good at FPSs :csgocross:

I guess you just can't handle the extreme levels of euphoria brought on by hats.
Is it possibly the amount of blood making you feel disgusted? It doesn't bother me, but I mean whole entire bodies can explode and blood and gibs fly everywhere...
You're losing brain cells.

I love seeing humans get slaughtered!

(Not in real life, i need to keep my polished white shell from getting covered in blood..)

I followed your advice and distanced myself from my monitor, that instantly made it much better. I also turned on V-sync (had it off because I've been told it causes a lot of lag, didn't notice any difference in framerate or stuttering though so I'm keeping it on) and it also seems to be helping a lot!

I guess the biggest issue that could be giving me the motion sickness is the stuttering, but it can't be helped, even if I throw all of the game's settings to the bottom of the pit it doesn't do jack to the stuttering, and every big update the game gets comes with even more of it.

But anyways, It's a lot better now, thank you so much for your help!

PSH, not at all, I play horror games all the time and I'm not at all phazed by the virtual, non-existent guts.
Besides, TF2's gore isn't THAT bad.
I mean, what's a few body parts flying all over right?
Put away TF2 for a while, and it'll probably go away. Once, I played TF2 so much that I started feeling nauseated whenever I play it, and could not play for a week or so before it went away. I have no idea why.

tl;dr: Probably a psychological issue, will go away over time.
It's the feeling of, wow this is just a game, my IQ doesn't matter, being the very best every time doesn't matter, let's just get some weapons loaded and be a fat heavy screaming for dat creepy medic over and over.

Yay, it's a typical game, little of the whole "ladder, look I'm ranked top eyyy" crap and just some lightheaded fun.
There is only one option. Play this game intoxicated.

That's not an option, it's a lifestyle.
