why is the AWPer hand so pricey?

you know that weapons are usually worth 0.5 ref, but the AWPer hand is worth around 6 ref, why? i mean it only functions like a default sniper rifle, so why?

It has a 1/6 craft chance, meaning you'd have to use 6 primary slot tokens, 6 sniper class tokens, and 6 scrap just to craft it.
It isn't in the drop system, so the only way to do it, is risking some loss and trying to craft it.
Some people get it on their first try
Some people try a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of times and still don't get it

It is CS gun, so it is not a common wep to have. just like Machina is Deus ex wep. They are priced by community and by demand. People like cool stuff.

well the genuine awper hand was a promotional item only given to players who bought/preordered cs:go before a certain date. that's why it's so pricey.

That does not matter. Gibus function the sameway as anyother regular hat. But people aren't conserned how it functions, it matters what it looks like.

Machinas drop randomly, so are considerably more common.

But yes, a lot of people seem to care about the appearance of their weapons for some reason.

I had a Genuine AWPer Hand and before I really understood the trading system I gave it away for some keys... Still upset about it
