Apparently people forgot how to shoot a floating man out of the air.
Shooting him down can't bring back the engi and med he took with him.
Not to mention how seriously hard it is to deal significant damage when hes rocket jumping upwards.
He's still pretty difficult to hit with the Base Jumper due to how the movement is.
People apparently seem to forget you can airstrafe extremely well with the thing.
Its not really that bad, if you got a good heavy with good aim or scout (if whom uses the base jumper) he be ded. (if theres no base jumper, gl.)

Asign someone willing to kill him when he is prone to being attacked.
I guess Valve made the Air Strike to make us be under cover more likely, if there's a small space, the airstrike is ♥♥♥♥ since its damage reduction affects a lot.

90% the solly will be already flying while shooting at your light hp classes like the medic and the only way to kill him before he shoots is to predict where he's going to come from which can be a challenge even for the most expirienced heavy/pocket solly mains.

which is about totally counteracted by the fact you shoot up to 8 rockets at assault rifle speed.

Pre-buff was -25% damage penalty, now it's -15%.

Please, in competitive, if you use the base jumper with the airstrike, the heavy and the rest of the classes can shoot you down, not to mention the pyros with the flaregun + degreaser combo.
If you use the gunboats, you only got a short amount of time before you land, you also need to rack some kills, so basically you're using 2 rockets which isnt enough to kill someone.
If we talk about pubs here, its quite OP. :llama:

imo should DEFINATELY have no random crits
its a risk v reward weapon

also it should have the pre buff -25% damage penalty and -20 % radius penalty

also
airstrike is banned in UGC highlander
base jumper is banned in UGC 6v6
ESEA banned both the airstrike and base jumper
ETF2L 6v6 banned both the airstrike and base jumper

Or they just hate heavies with a passion making them fight against a barrage of rockets while protecting their poor med.

It's funny because you people aren't any less :steamsalty: than the soldier mains.

Also, it's pretty OP for the role Soldier tends to have.
I used the airstrike pre-buff and it was fine. all they did was make it easier to start off.
