How do you pick up items?

I know it might seem dumb but, I have no idea how to pick up items. I picked up the boston beater bat but I had no idea how I picked it up. hoping for info.

ok so I now know that I can pick things up with h but, how do I get things that I can use forever?

Seriously, I think this update sucks.

I've killed so many people who were staring at a weapon to pick it up (I'm sniper). It's just bad.

Play the game and you will get about 6-12 items a week, also you could trade for them but you need to buy something from the Mann Co. Store first.

If I remember correctly, Items are drops that you get at some intreval in time... Check the Wiki if you aren't sure.

Why would you hate this update if you are shooting people?
I would be in sniper heaven laughing my arse off as the noobs just standing there looking at the item on the ground.
As for acutally being able to pick up the item.... CoD further seeping into TF2..... It makes it a little more interesting and gives everyone a chance to use a weapon they don't have and are reluctant to purchase as well as the satisfaction of killing someone with their own weapon.

You are talking about "Finding" Items.
Almost all weapons and gear that can be purchased can be found if you are on those kinds of servers that randomly "Drop" items.
