Custom Crit sounds aren't working

Good Day All :)

So here is my problem I installed a few custom crit sounds which aren't working instead I get a white ear bleeding noise. but my hit sounds are? Have I done something Wrong? Have I missed something obvious?

Here is how I've installed the Crit sound: Steam > SteamApps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf2 > custom > my_custom_stuff > sound > player - crit_hit.wav crit_hit2.wav crit_hit3.wav crit_hit4.wav crit_hit5.wav


And Here is how I've installed the Hit sounds: Steam > SteamApps > common > Team Fortress 2 > custom > my_custom_stuff > sound > ui - hitsounds.wav


Any form of Help I will be greatly thankful for.

i know this thread is dead but it's the same for me lol. if i play with bots on something like tr_walkway it works completely fine, but once i join a casual game i get a crit and get a screeching corruption-like sound.

here's a fix for casual, though it's broken on serveme.tf (almost no sounds can be heard) and also doesn't work in MVM you just have default sounds.
