PC sleeping, while TF2 is running?
So today I was playing TF2 with a friend and suddenly my monitor was shutting down, this was odd but I ignored it thinking it had to do with my dad turning off the power for the house or my monitor was just disconnecting, it later happened again and again shutting off. I then decicided to change my setting about turning off during a certain wait time. Then while I was cleaning my PC I went to eat dinner, my monitor was turned off while eating, I checked my PC and it was still running just fine, then I started up tf2 played for a few minutes and it turned off again. I havent tried any other steam games atm, I honestly dont know what to do at this point.
Please help

It may be because of the heat.
Play at night and see if it shuts down as easily.

Just recently did a test on the impossible game, I put more time into it and my PC didnt sleep once, so now I am sure this is related to TF2, Im thinking of re-installing it

it may be overheating meaning your GPU is dying or the fan.

Well I recently did max out my settings, so should I like lower them or look for someone to check my GPU/fan?

well... lower them for now, keep an eye on how hot your computer gets while playing. If it still gets hot and overheats do like I do, put a small fan near it.

Have you checked your graphics card connection to your motherboard? The exact same thing happened to me recently, if you know what you're doing try removingthe graphics card, using some compressed air to clean any dust (this causes it to overheat) and replacing it in your PC case.

My problem was both excessive dust in my PC case and my graphics card wobbling a little loose from a poor installation (I drive 5 hours a week and usually take my PC with me)

Yeah Im using a laptop

Welp that makes things a lot harder, also opening the case would probably void any installation or parts warranty you may have. I'd honestly take it to an IT specialist. Are you sure it's going into actual sleep mode or can you still hear sounds from the laptop as if it's running? is the power button showing it's on or off? This will help the IT guys with their troubleshooting.

vvv This is good advice, my friend's laptops have all died to overheating in one way or another. My old laptop (before it probably died of overheating) used to reach some pretty crazy temperatures even when playing something old like Diablo II.

make sure the fan inside isn't super dusty, also have you considered getting a laptop cooling pad? I built mine but you can get some cheap ones at Walmart and such that may keep it from overheating.

Another thing to note is the fact is the settings getting lower didnt help and I checked my fans they look fine and act normal, they're not super loud or anything. But I think my laptop is in a bad enviroment could be a problem possibly, its the middle of summer and the air conditioning is pretty bad now, it used to make me freeze now I just feel some air on my arm while I start burning to death. Though I cant say the hotter the enviroment something like this could happen

Now when I say sleeep mode I mean I can hear things, until like a minute and bam its silent, once I turn it back on it has sound again

get a cooling pad for your laptop, watch as your performance improves.

Yeah it's sounding like a hardware problem or a serious software issue, I'd talk to an IT professional from here and get a cooling pad in future buddy. That is unless someone else here knows a fix for this. Best of luck!

I could help more if I knew his specs and the model number of his computer. Without those it'd be going in pretty blind to give any exact fixes on a laptop ya know? unlike a desktop those are very specific.
