Heavy Dumb or Smart?

Is it just me or does Heavy seems to be really inteligent in the comics and meet the team videos.
But in game he doesn't.

He has a degree in russian literature, others think he is stupid as he has bad english, he is far from stupid, that is soldier.

I wouldn't say soldier is stupid, I would more say he's just insane and out of touch with reality.

Do you really think russian literature will improve heavies combat capabilities?

Heavy is not stupid, he just has bad english and that makes him sound stupid. Soldier is the stupid one.

The Mercs are not idiots. Heavy is very smart, but cannot speak English well, and thus sounds like a big, friendly idiot. Soldier and Medic are not idiots, they are a bit crazy. Pyro is schizophrenically disabled.

The only one that is kind of legit dumb is Scout.

In the original Poker Night at the Inventory, Heavy is confirmed to have a phD in Russian Literature. He just can't speak English very well, and thus sounds stupid, when he is anything but.

Funnily enough, when asked by Max how much he uses it in his line of work, he responds with "More than you would think".
