How do I start a UGC Highlander team?
Hello. So, I'm very new to competitive TF2, and I wanted to start a team with my friends. We have team members set up, so we're ready for that. I've been trying to figure out how to start a team for UGC Highlander, what division we would be in, and just some overall help with getting started with UGC Highlander. Thanks, have a great day.

You need 8 people. Then you create a team on their website. Pretty simple.

I know that much already, but I need help with getting started. Thanks anyway.

I'd recommend going to their site to see how to start a team. I'd also recommend starting out on Iron division if you've never played competetive TF2 before.

A Highlander Team for UGC.
UGC hosts competitive tf2 matches and has four(?) leagues ranging in skill.

Top is Platinum and that's where you find all those 'Pr0 repl@y'-beings like Stabby *cough* and Hei *cough*

If anyone has any guides or any good instructions/tips for getting started I'd love it.

So I read the website and tried to create a team.Unfortunately you can't create one 'cause admission is closed due to a season in session.
The next openings are July 24th.Btw I'm interested in joining your team.

A competetive 9v9 TF2 match with one teammate of every class. So much better than 6v6 since it requires more teamwork than it.

Also, I'm interested in joining. I'll add you.

While there is no rule against first-time players being a team captain, I recommend trying out for an existing team first and playing with them for a season. Being a team captain is a big responsibility: scheduling matches and scrims, finding players, operating servers, reporting match results, etc. It would be way less stressful on someone who already had a season under their belt and was familiar with the UGC culture.

If you actually already have a full 9 players, you probably wouldn't be able to find a team to take you all, but if you can find a team just starting out that has an experienced captain, there may be 3-5 slots available. The UGC website has Teams Looking For Players Forums for this purpose. If there really are 9 of you, you really might have to start your own team. Just be ready for the amount of responsibility entailed. Play a few TF2Center lobbies together to make sure everyone is knows what Highlander is like.

Also, if it's not a whole team's worth of players, don't just look into the Iron Division. It's considered a bit of a joke, and Steel or even Silver could potentially be better suited for some members of your group. But yeah, a whole team of friends starting out should go Iron.
