I'm having this issue as well, and it only started on the 29th. people say that people who hack or cheat will get this issue. But i have never hacked or cheated, and i trust that you haven't either. I don't think this is isolated to only Team Fortress Two, as players from the CS:GO community have reported getting kicked from matchmaking servers as well.

Steam support also has a page to resolve this.
just look up:
An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system. You cannot play on secure servers.

here's the info on the page:

Enable DEP
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) must be enabled to play on VAC secured servers. To restore DEP settings to default please follow the steps below:
Exit Steam.
Click the Start button, then 'All Programs', and 'Accessories'
Right-click on Command Prompt and click "Run as administrator..."

- Please note if you are running Windows 8 you will need to press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin)

In the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:

bcdedit.exe /deletevalue nx

Restart your computer.
Launch Steam and test the issue again.
Restart your computer
If this is a problem for you on all servers then you can try fixing this problem by exiting Steam and restarting your computer.
Repair the Steam Service
This may also indicate a Steam Service failure. Please try repairing the Steam Service:
Exit Steam.
Click Start > Run (Windows Key + R)
Type the following command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe" /repair

(If you have installed Steam to another path, please replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam with the correct path.)

This command requires administrator privileges and may take a few minutes.
Launch Steam and test the issue again.
Conflicting Software
This issue can be caused by third party software interfering with your game or Steam. Please restart your computer, then launch Steam and the game without running any other third party software. [i/]

This all requires the admin password to fix this, which is why i can't do anything myself. (i use a family computer). But I hope this can help you get back to fragging nerds [b/]

Just like i said in my post,I tried the command prompt solution,it did not work.I think it must be Valve's issue with steam..valve needs to get their ♥♥♥♥ straight tho..

haha yes, that did nothing...but i found a fix though. You need to run in an administrator account then right click run as administrator..but i suppose you can't since you said you do not have access to admin and for that you might need your parents for the password if you really want to play tf2

Haven't had the problem yet.

Try asking Valve's Support Team for help.

I've been having this problem for at least a week now, I've tried all the suggested solutions mentioned above and none of them seemed to work. I would like to mention that when I try to enable DEP and delete the 'nx' value, it returns an error saying that the value isn't found. Anyone else got suggestions? It doesn't seem like it will fix itself anytime soon and I've met some players with the same exact problem...

I was experiencing this problem as well, but I used the very same fix as described by the good sir fsyk, and I have had no problems since.

Any suggestions guys? I did one technique where you validate the game files of TF2. This worked for a few days until my server had a huge lagspike. Then I had very crappy ping. After a few 10 minutes or so it came back.

You're being hacked by Gabe Newell.
There are some ather sad ways to fix it.

1. Reinstall your Windows/macOS/Linux or wtf you are using.
2. If reinstalling your OS doesn't work try playing on a ather PC/Laptop.
3. If none of these things above work then play TF2 in a ather house or just with a ather router.
4. If nothing works, go cry like a baby and pray for the sandvichgod to help you. (he will)

I finally managed to fix the problem; here are the things that worked for me:
-Enable DEP + Verify the game's file integrity
-Reinstall TF2
-Start running Steam as administrator

I hope the itens above help you guys; Good luck

When I tried this it said "An error occurred while attempting to delete the specified data element. The value is protected by a Secure Boot Policy and cannot be modified or deleted."
(I did run as admin btw)
