How to use microphone without holding down a key?

How can I speak over the microphone without having to hold down the mic key? There a way so I can just push the key to start talking, and push it again when I want to stop?

I think you can make a script for that function
I made a script so I can press a key and my gun will keep shooting, and press another key to stop it

you know when ever i click one of these discussions i always dread seeing some kind of toxicity so godsmoko your not helping,but anyways i always found that annoying too but is it the same when your in partys

aside from wastin ammo and no ammoconservation, i don't get it..... but then again, you ahve to like it, if you do... all is fine by me :p

as for op
you can script that - use google ( it knows a lot )

do take this in mind
if you forget to turn it of for whatever reason and random background noise is poluting trough it

you'll get kicked faster then you can unpush it :)
doesn't matter who you are or if your intentions are good

if in casual, you are kicked.... you just are

push to talk is the far safer option ( hence it's defaulted ) as you can't "accidently" polute with sound

actually based on the sensitivity of your microphone you could just go to steam settings and go to voice then set it to broadcast whenver sound is detected

if it's not supersensitive and you have a headset it should only broadcast if you effectively talk and filter out silent background noise as is
( you will need a quality mic though.... headset inbuild ones won't do for that )

Type "+voicerecord" in console.
Press your mic button or type "-voicerecord" in console to stop.

First type in console

Alias von +voicerecord

Then type,

Alias voff -voicerecord

Then type

Bind l von

Then finally,

Bind p voff

This will make it so you click l to turn on voice then click p to turn off, you can put whatever letter you want in place of l and p, sonic you wanted to press y to turn on voice you would just type instead of "bind l von" in your console, you would type

Bind y von
