Team Fortress 2
Ap Sap or Snack Attack?
I can't decide. I like the Ap Sap, but Wheatley is too quiet. I play on Valve servers so mods don't work. I also tend to not switch to my sapper constantly. I have a script that makes it so pressing Q will switch between my revolver to my knife and vice versa. The only time I bring out the sapper is when I'm pressing numbers, scroll wheel, sapping, or in the rare instance I remember he's there. Really the only things I've heard from him is "Hello", the sapping lines, or him reading a book or playing music. On the other hand though, I like the Ap Sap because it feels like I have a companion with me. The Snack Attack on the other hand, I don't dislike it but I don't like it that much either. It just feels weird holding a monster trying to bite your face off. But what I do like is the fluent animation, and silent sapping sound.

Quick run down:
Ap Sap

Pros: Talking, feels like I have a partner with me
Cons: Too quiet, tend not to switch to my sapper

Snack Attack:

Pros: Silent sapping, fluent animation
Cons: Not much features, bread biting my face

If I do sell my Ap Sap, it's so I can get a Snack Attack and a Festive Ambassador since I use it a lot.

The Ap Sap is loud, and lets *everybody* know that there's a spy.

The Snack Attack is a straight upgrade from the stock sapper, because it's very, very quiet when attached to buildings.
same ♥♥♥♥, difrent look.
*welcome to tf:go after 8000000 year in dev, hopefully hats*

Yes, but the lines tend to be muffled out by the actual sapping sound. And if you're anything like me, you'll hear the sapping sounds before the voice lines. Also, other players can only hear the sapping lines or death lines.

Does being silent even matter...as an Engi you automatically hear the beep sounds when a spy is sapping your stuff and most of the time the engi will say 'Spy is sapping my w/e'.

Snack Attack. I hear some players complain about how Wheatley's lines are too quiet to be heard most of the time during gameplay. Least with the Snack Attack you can watch that little bread monster flail away.
Hello Player 1, to answer your question let's take a look at both the sappers and compare.

Ap-Sap(Also known as Wheatley) The reskin of the default sapper. Since the reskin is Wheatley and he has voice lines I do agree it's neat to have/use but can be quiet at times. The bad part of using this is if you wanted to be stealthy while taking out sentrys.

The Ap-Sap(Wheatley) once placed on a building will begin to talk. For example; "*typing* "Oh, wait! No, I've got it! I've--" *buzz* "No, that won't work. Wait! Oh, I'm a genius! I'm an absolute g--" *buzz* "No, I'm not." After the building is destroyed the Ap-Sap(Wheatley) will also say another voice line. Example after a building destroyed; ""Act natural--all right? Just--just play it cool, we've done nothing wrong."

As you can see, while this is a neat sapper compared to the default it's not great to have if you want to be incognito(having one's true identity concealed.) Using this will increase the risk of enemy players hearing the Ap-Sap(like pyros) and run to it to catch you.

To spare you the time of reading I shall make this part about the Snack Attack quick below;

Reskin of the default sapper, but has neat animation/sounds.
Enemy can't hear the sounds it makes.
Doesn't make sounds when placed on a building
Stealthy play style
More incognito compared to the Ap-Sap

The only bad is your opinion "Not much features, bread biting my face"

I hope this helped you decide which to use! Have a great day/night.

I played portal 2 for 50 hours, I'm suprised most people play two or three.Nonetheless I play it little because I completed the campaign back when I cracked the game. And I love Wheatley, so I'll take the ap-sap.

In short,ap-sap is for portal lovers, snack attack are for people who liked the SFM.
Strange / Festive Sapper

It has a little perk to it that makes it actually better then stock. It makes absolutely no sound when you place it on engineer buildings. Increases the chances of sapping nests with the engie's teammates if he's not around to scream when you sap it.

Noone but you can hear the Ap-Sap.
I've heard Ap-Saps placed on buildings before by a enemy spy. Other players can hear the Ap-Sap's voice lines.
