It sometimes bugs try using the Action sometimes and try the Inspect sometimes. ;)
That's a bit odd. Try rechecking the keybinds and restarting/verifying TF2's cache.
Absolutely. I do understand what Valve is going for (the texturing and modeling on the first person weapon models is pretty smooth) and it is there to show off the new custom weapons, and making animations for the games over 100 different weapons is going to take a lot of work. I do hope they build up to it, but giving the current other customized weapons animations would be a welcomed start.
That said, I really wish they would make it a different key (or only enable it when not selecting a view target) as to not let inspecting a target's loadout get overshadowed.
Also I'm pretty sure if you just hold it for a slightly longer time it will start inspecting your weapon regardless if you are looking over another player.
