An idea I considered for all of the TF2 community of sorts.

• A server is hosted where a map is chosen for the wake to take place. Either Gorge or Double Cross is hosted. This is because the WAR! Update was both Soldier and Demoman's first class update. That or Granary given where Meet the Soldier took place.
  
• Server is set on Truce. Hopefully this will prevent hackers and bots from screwing up the event.
  
• Players may choose to come as any class, but likely play as Soldier as the more respectable choice for the occasion.
  
• If any chance there are people who knew Rick May may stand on some high ground or a ledge for a speech.
  
• End it off with the 21-gun salute and/or Cow Mangler salute (taunt may vary to those playing as other classes) to see Rick May off.

Thing is, I know how messy TF2's community is of late with bots and hackers so even hosting a truced server with RED and BLU soldiers coming together to pay respects may still not go so smoothly.

EDIT: So I just woke up and heard the news when I wrote this reply. Turns out some server groups out there have done wakes for Soldier.
