Actually, no. You just need a non-F2P game. You just can't trade from TF2, but you can from anywhere else

Although you need to be premium in TF2 itself to recieve item drops that are tradable.

If you get a weapon drop and you're a F2P, you can still trade it

No you can't.

F2Ps can trade items given to them by other P2P players. You also need to have Steam Guard enabled for at least a week to trade in general, across all games. Once you're P2P, you can trade any non-achievment item in TF2.

You can also use a Premium gift to be able to trade.
