good ol' fun if you want to play dm but don't want to play against players that're actually good
decent koth map if you happen to enjoy maps where Sniper is op
good choice, you seem to like maps where Sniper is powerful
good map but you really seem to like maps where Sniper is op
it's so close to being good but not quite there, still better than the majority of maps and it's a pretty fun map to Engi on
people still play this map? really open and gigantic map that has more space than is actually needed, I like the spawnrooms but it's pretty mediocre balance wise
A/D gorge is dumb, why would you put last cap on a height disadvantage and then give Demos free height advantage from where they can spam down with no risk of retaliation
5CP gorge is decent but skybox is way too low and it's a pretty slow map because of the medkits
no comment
fun map for movement classes and Snipers, it's a pretty DM centric map and does attract some decent players from time to time
try playing process, snakewater, viaduct, badlands, yukon, coldfront, gullywash, granary, gravelpit, mountainlab, thundermountain, and maybe foundry.
plz help me q.q
He's butthurt because of competitive snipers.
Complaining about snipers on Fps games is one of the most retarded things you can do in the gaming industry.
Demo will deny pushes with the mere possibility of a stickytrap and Sniper will deny an entire lane (or two, for poorly designed maps) just by pointing his dot at a wall
some maps will make some classes more powerful (Swiftwater Engi comes to mind) but in general a Demo/Sniper pick is #1 priority
Upward (and most pl maps in general actually, it's kinda hard to balance them because having tracks means that the map either has to be very open and thus strongly favor Scouts and Snipers as well as making Spy and Medic marginally easier or be tight and thus strongly favor Soldiers and Demos and make Heavy, Pyro and Engi slightly easier) has very long sightlines and thus only Sniper can really frag the other Sniper while all the other classes need to sit back and hold their dicks while the Snipers play mge with each other, same with badwater (badwater is better at cutting Sniper sightlines though, since the tighter nature of the map makes it so that projectile classes can spam a doorway to deny the Sniper from peeking)
I mention Sniper being strong on nucleus because it's so easy to get a safe sightline into the enemy spawn doors, and while Sollies can easily bomb any location on the map it's just as easy to deny them midair with a 50 damage shot and make them crater into the pit. It's not as ridiculous as say, snowplow b1, but it still has some really stupid sightlines
I am bad at wording things
the height disadvantage is dumb but it's still a pretty decent map compared to the majority of the pub maps
but anyways
In gorge, height ad is given to the defending team and the attackers literally have to push the defenders all the way back into their spawn in order to use it and at that point they can just cap without worrying about people coming out of spawn
In mountainlab the little upstairs room with the medium ammo/health kit is easily defendable by a single Demo or Engi (that little chokepoint is really easy to spam and you have health/ammo) on defense but can be pushed through with an ubercharge or a cheeky Sniper play, at which point the attackers can use the height advantage to trap the enemy team in spawn and win the game. It doesn't create a stalemate, like gorge's catwalk does. I will admit that it does force a rather predictable push route if both teams are capable of thinking (free height advantage, yo) but the nature of A/D emphasizes strategy and cooperation over individual DM so it works out
?????
I actually like most of the maps that I mentioned (I'm particularly fond of upward and the pitch-dark sniping spots offered by the shitty lightmaps where the enemy team can't see you) as having OP sightlines, I just think they'll be more fun and definitely far more dynamic if some of the Sniper sightlines were cut off so that Snipers were required to play closer to the enemy team and thus be at actual danger of being attacked by classes that are not Sniper
you also forgot to mention the part where the sniper rifle can kill any class in the game in one shot (yeah there's some niche exceptions but for the most part it's true)
Sorry Mashpit but from all your posts in those forums this one is quite arguable.
You can't center everything in TF2 on a single character, if you don't want change your class and want to keep on and playing sniper at close quarters combat and indoors you deserve to die every single time, the same can be said to people who keeps dying to snipers on open maps instead of looking for another way around or changing to another class to deal with the sniper.
Sniper incredibly map dependent? Well you have two choices: change class or change map. Simple.
And why talking ♥♥♥♥ on your own main? Nonsense.
