Old Steam Names? Creepy user?

The reason that I'm asking this here, is because it happened in TF2. This happened a year or so ago, but I'd like to actually know what happened so I can watch for this kind of thing in the future. So about a year ago, on my alt account, I was doing my thing on Dustbowl, final point and mvping, when a new user joined the game. Now the match went on, and I guess me using a mic was annoying him, so he started acting a little odd towards me, a little malicious. As the match neared its end the user I am speaking of turned on his mic and referred to me as my first username ever. I was confused as to how he was able to find this out, as I'm sure that no one can see my entire name history. The game went on and he kept calling me by several old account names, even going as far as using a voice changer and threatening to hack my computer. After that I left the match spooked silly. How was he able to access an old name of mine, or am I just getting worked up over nothing?



NOTE: I am aware that previous aliases can be viewed, but the user I am speaking of referred to me as one I used at the very beginning before my hundred username changes

I am aware of that, but there is a limit to how far back you can go. The name he referred to me as was the original out of probably a hundred names.

there's an option to view all previous aliases; i can't remember how you find it, but it's definitely there.

Lock your account by Steam settings, and disable all users that attempt to use your account through another device..

Did you ever talk to him in steam chat?

I was very quiet as he was acting...creepy...luckliy this was a while ago and I'm pretty sure it was just trolling. But I could never be too sure...

You can lock your account
But once you do the only way to unlock it
Is to go to steam support and prove that its your account and request for it to be unlocked

Yeah, I'll just stick to switching passwords every day or so, thank you very much.

i'm not sure if you even have to go that far; do 1-2 password changes maybe today and tomorrow, and if you're really worried about other users finding that information set your profile to friend's only or private.
