Gun Mettle degraded some of the weapon textures
As the title says, the Gun Mettle update degraded the visuals of some/all of the weapons that have skins for them, and in my opinion the most noticable and ugliest version is the default revolver.

Here is the 2007 revolver

Looks like realistic, detailed, shiny metal

Here is the new 2015 Gun Mettle revolver

Looks like completely flat colors with mat_phong set to 0

Also, unrelated to Gun Mettle since it was like this before Gun Mettle, but after release, Valve has 'degraded' the Revolver animations by making the arm aim at an unnatural upwards angle instead of a realistic flat downwards angle, as you can see in the two screenshots.

In addition, in 2007, the Revolver's cylinder used to spin and the hammer would move after a shot, but now they are completely immobile.

As well, the revolver's crane (the part that allows the cylinder to swivel in and out of the revolver) used to (like it should realistically speaking) move along with with the cylinder during reloading, as seen here

but as of now, it remains in the gun at all times, detached from the cylinder, meaning the cylinder just floats in and out of place when reloading.

And to end it, as of 2015, the Revolver's model is lower poly than it was in 2015, ever since they switched it to the c_model system which shares the same model for both first and third person.

I don't know if anyone gives a toss about anything I've said here, but I almost can't stand looking at the 2015 revolver without thinking it's hideous when in comparison with the 2007 revolver that I thought was just perfect, and it just seems weird how much Valve has (seemingly pointlessly) degraded the visuals of the Revolver so greatly.

your not supposed to spin cylinder and close a Revolver's its is a good way if breaking a Revolver PIN

They changed the revolver reload because they all the spy Gun reloads were in the player's face

Hence it's on the bottom

Huh? I'm referring to the act of the revolver cylinder 'revolving' after a shot in order to 'chamber' the subsequent round.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the new reload animation, even though I prefer the old one, but I'm talking about the crane not moving with the cylinder. The crane is the moving part which allows the revolver cylinder to swivel in and out of the revolver frame, as seen in this screenshot here:

In this new animation, and the previous animation before they changed it in Gun Mettle, the crane stays immobile at all times inside the frame of the gun, detached from the cylinder even though it should move along with it, though it was not broken like that when the game was released in 2007.
