Team Fortress 2
TF2 texture loading problem
i don't know how many people have this issue but i have it, every time i pull out a weapon the weapon textures take about 4 seconds to slowly load them (they start off as blury undetailed models) and if i don't hold the weapon out for a certain amount of time it rests and it becomes blury again, and when it comes to skins they load instantly, no blur, so anyone knows how to fix this?

I'm pretty sure valve did this knowingly, check patch notes.

I get this too, and not just with weapons. Most things on the map are low detail to start with.

yep you are right robot-freind: "Temporarily removed texture memory optimizations for players on Intel Integrated GPUs", this is it, i have no idea what does it mean and i have the feeling that i can't change this, that is so annoying though.

This has suddenly started happening to me too! It happens when i'm engie and i'm using the blue print for a building now too... and when I inspect an object like a powerhouse collection case. A LOW resolution texture slowly over 4 seconds or so becomes high resolution! DX NOOOO... WHY!???

Don't worry, it's temporary. Just wait until they optimize textures, so the game can run smoother.

How do you know this? Did i miss the memo?

Verify game cache? Outdated drivers?

All drivers are updated and game cache was updated last night.

So I found out that you make a similiar thread with more detailed issue...
How about lowering the quality except for the Textures?

mat_filtertextures 1
mat_bumpmap 1
mat_picmip -2
Tried any of these?
If it doesn't do anything, there's a chance that it's something to do with your hardware. Other games runs fine?
