Just keep it simple at least though. And use Gimp (because it is free).
I use Inkscape to vector, which is also free.

As long as you're happy with what you make, skills don't matter in art. I wanted to draw a specially dumb-looking and high af Medic, so he turns out like that. And I like him that way.
If you draw a tree, people look at it and realise it's a tree, I'll say it's a success.
