the muzzleflash thing also gives u epilepsy
but yea other than that... meh
ultra reddit moment
honestly though, giving it a tiny amount of splash (like a flat cylinder amount instead of a circular radius) would be a bit better
I would be fine with the horrizontal range being increased a bit but honestly I find it fine as is.
The Dragon's Fury absolutely does more damage than stock.
This graph assumes that the target was not ignited before hand and it clearly hasn't been updated to account for the flamethrower's damage ramp up mechanic added in Blue Moon.
The actual max DPS of the Dragon's Fury is 225, (2.5 hits for 90 damage each) to the Flamethrower's 173 DPS, after roughly .5 seconds of ramp up of course, so in reality it's more like a 25% higher max DPS.
Then you have to account for ramp-up. With current mechanics Pyro will do about 150 damage in 1 second when accounting for rampup. Meanwhile the Dragon's Fury has hit his fireball 3 times for 210 damage and is halfway through waiting for his next fireball.
If normal flamethrower Pyro misses any one of the 13 damage ticks that occur within that first second of firing, his DPS is cut in half and brought right back to the beginning.
When you're face hugging someone this isn't that noticeable, but when you start to reach the edge of Flamethrower's range, it gets much harder to track every single tick.
Meanwhile the Dragon's Fury will always do the intended damage without ramp-up getting in the way. In fact, the Dragon's Fury unlike the Flamethrower has a unique damage fall off scale where it only loses out on 10% of it's damage at max range, while the Flamethrower loses 50% of it's damage.
This get's more pronounced when you realize that Dragon's Fury has double the range of the flamethrower, at 500 HU vs roughly 250 HU.
In other words, you're doing double the damage nearly twice as far away.
Yes, theoretically if everything is perfect, stock will barely manage to keep up with Dragon's Fury. However, introduce these weapons in a practical demonstration, account for secondaries, ramp-up, and range, you'll quickly see how much more consistent the DF's damage output actually is.
