Its not that long, Have you not played counter strike or Valorant or similar games? Where basically have to wait for a round to end?
This is nothing compared to this.
At any rate, in TF2 respawn times are 10-20 seconds at worst. Still, try to not die. Don't rush into fights you can't win, watch your health (multiple ways to keep it topped, including resupply lockers at your spawn), try to stick with your team. And keep learning.
For BRs, you have a friend who can do nothing else but spectate, and if he wants to play, the team has to throw away a winnable match, or have that friend endure the round until he can play again. You can't even take revenge, because you queue into a new lobby instead of staying in the old one.
For board games, it's even more awkward, because you've got your friend sitting there, and you can't really stop a board game mid-way. They can only hope there's a secondary game for eliminated players.
Tangent aside, this doesn't apply to Arena as much, because again, the wait times are rather short, but player elimination is a dangerous mechanic to introduce. Also yes, VSH suffers from the same "problem", as well as other custom modes like Dodgeball. Then again, as I've established, it hasn't reached problem status.
