How long will TF2 live?

I started to notice there is less players in the game, and was wondering how long will this game last

not all adults who like to play the game are comp players you know. We even had large get togethers on campus to play it for fun. You really think way too highly of what comp means in TF2.

I did not only say competetive, I said experienced players; players who think of the game slightly seriously, like you and me. People that don't always go on lobbies, play Pubs and are generally good at the game. The majority of these types of players will leave if Valve continues to destroy the game with nerfs that they didn't spend more than a minute thinking through.

i think it will live till theres a 3rd game but they probaly wont make a 3rd one because of the money they make of it

with that logic, there wouldn't be crysis 2, most of the COD games, CS:GO, L4D2, Dead Space 2 and a bunch of other franchises.

TF2 is still an ongoing game with new content being released. Based on the evidence we have, two major updates are apparently already in the works. However, based on the fact that a lot of old multiplayer games are still played by cult communities, I figure a game as popular as TF2 will still be played regularly on dozens of servers decades after Valve stops working on it.
