Many in minorities try to use something big, like a game (such as tf2), as a platform. It is abusive and rude to do so.

I have a trans friend IRL. She's part of the community of a much different hobby where I used to live and is respected by everyone. It's just not a big deal. That said, I'm not sure why there's any need for numerous threads like this. There's a Look at Me! component to it that's akward and off-putting. Just stop.
