Hit registration fix?

I haven't really done anything with my settings after seeing a "fix" a few years back, but I keep missing a lot, especially in melee. I'm wondering if I can adjust these values to fix it?

Unless you are using hitscan at less than 50 ping, TF2 hit detection gets wonky.

Yeah, and everyone knows this. He has a lot of time on the game, so he's either being a really bad troll or he just idled a lot and never played.

I'm talking things like getting a headshot, a blood splat appearing, and them taking no damage, or the most common thing: getting a melee hit, hearing the sound, seeing a blood splat, and no damage taken. I was just wondering if my values are fine and there's no better fix.

If he was really good though he would definitely know about the hit registration things, and so he's just trolling like he probably is. We should really stop talking about him, though, and get back onto the topic matter.

honestly, hitreg is direclty connected into connections

you will probably see a guy get hit with effects and all
on his screeen that shot missed him by 2 people

his client tells the server all is fine and then the servers has to decide what happens

in the end a lot of bs goes down


you can get YOUR connection as good as you want but you can't fix other idiots, it's just something to deal with

somewhere there was mention of headshots as a sniper - i've missed people by miles only to watch thme die by me ---( yeah sometimes it just works in your favour as well :p )

or you are pretty much eating a guy's face as a pyro - spamming that m1 for gabens love and noone catches fire - seems legit :p




it's an online game - best to do is assuem hitreg is ♥♥♥♥ and not expect to much from it :)

( lukcily this isn't the original dark souls - netcoding seemed like an illusion they failed to grasp in that one ( same for hitreg on a singleplayer basis :p )

Your settings are fine. Interp 0.0303/ratio 2 = more accurate hitboxes. 0.0152/ratio 1 for projectiles.
If you still think that you miss every shot, then you fall into one of these categories:
1. The server you're playing is terrible and playing with interp values might help you.
2. Your internet connection is terrible and changing interp might help you.

Oh, thank you for actually helping. I don't miss every shot, it's kind of rare that it happens, but the blood stain and noise does happen so I know I didn't miss them
