The Jag Nerf
Did Valve really need to nerf the jag? I get that it was a very good wrench for almost every situation, but I think the 3 hits to destroy a Sapper WITH a -20% repair speed is a little much. EITHER of these by THEMSELVES would have been fine, but I guess I'm asking if anyone in the community out there agrees with me :3 (Yes I am an Engineer main :/)

Jag was a direct upgrade until the change.

Now, if you want a fast build, you'll have to deal with it getting destroyed faster.

True, and I completely agree. I just think the 3 hits on the Sapper is a little much is all

I think Uncle Dane's video on it was a pretty good explaination.

Basically Jag was a much faster wrench and the only drawback was a SLIGHT repair penalty, and I mean almost not even there. Basically it was the best wrench hands down. This change made it less of an "All around better wrench" And more of a quick setup and harder to mantain wrench, a fair tradeoff.

Oh and given its faster swing speed, 3 hits to a sapper isn't that much slower than 2 hits from Stock

They didn't need to nerf the Jag. It was perfect as is, and not OP. But why, WHY IN THE HELL nerf the Jag, but BUFF the Phlogistonator?????

Just use the Jag to construct your buildings quicker than then switch to the Stock Wrench when you have the opportunity.

They nerfed the Jag because it was a direct upgrade from the Stock Wrench, and I have no idea why VALVE thought it was a good idea to buff the Phlogistonator.

I mean, if you complain about jag being nerfed, you got problems. stock should ALWAYS be better in almost any scenario

Besides, here's a tip on how to counter a phlog...

1. Walk away while they taunt

2. SHOOT THEM remember how they CANT AIRBLAST?

Not every class has the ability to do massive damage at long range. What if you're playing as a Medic, Spy, or Heavy who gets caught up by a Phlogistonator Pyro? They have very, VERY little time to react and do anything about it before they're consumed in flames and crumble into ashes. The Phlogistonator buff was completely unnecessary and if anything a rework is needed.

I dislike the change but have adapted nonetheless

Not to offtopic, but medics should be nowhere near pyros, they (medics) run faster

Also, have you ever heard of walking backwards and stringing them?

Yes, I've done it before with the Blutsauger when going solo as a combat Medic. But not every Medic uses the Stock Syringe Gun or any other syringe gun. Some Medics use the Crusaders Crossbow, which has a slow rate of fire, so the Pyro would probably burn the Medic to ashes before the Medic could even get a second shot at the Pyro. Some Medics will keep behind their pocket, but if a Phlogistonator Pyro kills their pocket, that leaves the Medic open for the Pyro to kill, which is what happens to most Medics when they are killed by Phlog Pyros, they're pocketing an aggressive class such as Demoman, Soldier, or Heavy. Medics are indeed faster than the Pyros, but the Pyros can "bunny-hop" and pick up momentum and can easily catch up to the Medic if they happen to make a wrong turn or stop pressing the 'W' key for even a second.
I'll say it again; The Phlogistonator is over-powered.

It was superior to stock. The nerf is deserved.
