Team Fortress 2
Is there any tips for soldiers on how to do a great rocket jump?
I was playing tf2 for almost 3 years, and until now, i still have no idea about how to do rocket a jump correctly. Is there any guide or maybe a tutorial on how to do rocket jump correctly step by step

Very basics is to jump and crouch at same time as you fire a rocket in the ground at your feet. Jumping and crouching makes you the most "vulnerable" to knockback, so you should fly the furthest.
If you were also walking forward prior to jumping, you should keep momentum and thus be able to move forward in order to jump onto some ledge (say, 2fort's bridge roof).
After you git gud at this, you can google some video tutorials that show advanced movements.

There are custom maps called "Jump academy" I did it years ago so maybe it's not a thing anymore but there you will find a series of challenges designed to teach you how to rocket jump. I remember there being randos in there helping me by following me and talking to me about rocket jumping/sticky jumping and how to do it.
don't press "W"
otherwise what this guy said
Use A and D to move yourself in the air, pressing W kills all momentum from the rocket jump by setting you to your walk speed. My typical rocket jump is looking down to my right firing with a crouch jump and then using "A" to move quickly to the left of wherever I choose to face while rocket jumping.
