thoughts on trans engie? (and shut down the workshop)
workshop has gone downhill massively and need shutting down, nothing is fitting anymore and now people will get anything in, valve doesn't care whether it's important to the actual game or not.

Newest effects are crappy, cosmetics are mid, maps are apparently good? But why do we even want updates if they're always going to be like this?

♥♥♥♥ like this only serves to be inflammatory, with one side going, "neener neener neeee-ner! I tricked you into buying something that contains stuff you're against!" It deceptive and juvenile, and I think it should be nipped in the bud before it starts to get out of hand.

The rational part of me would recommend valve have the item have a style where you can enable/disable the hidden flag, and warn workshop creators to knock it off. The sick-and-tired, "♥♥♥♥ you, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!" part of me would recommend Valve edit the texture to remove the flags and suspend/blacklist the creator from having any more workshop items accepted. But, knowing Valve, they probably won't do anything.

I mean yeah, this too. If we had (and I'm not politically knowledgeable) each side of politics putting stuff on cosmetics and they get in game, people would get a lot of harassment for it on both sides. I personally don't like associating with that kind of stuff, including this, because I'm so confused.

Politics (and especially hidden messaging like this) do not belong in TF2. The workshoppers know they don't belong in TF2. Everyone knows it doesn't belong in TF2, that's why they have to hide it. If you want to show trans pride or whatever, you have the objector, badges, etc. This is why user generated content exists.

For crying out loud it aint politics, is just two pride flags, yall are drowning in a glass of water. And yes, precisely the custom decals alredy lets you put anything on them, but were talking about a cosmetic that has them HIDDEN in game. Unless you look up the wiki you aint gonna know and even if you know, who tf would mind that?

Knowing Valve they only check workshop images and model inside Itemtest.
