I'm torn on the visual design of embargo since there's a lot of cool elements and stuff to really make the map stand out but something felt off and I can't quite explain it, maybe exterior lighting or something idk
Disable decals: best feature in years
Bugfixes: always good
Cosmetics: some are really really bad, but some are actually acceptable. and I'm usually extremely harsh on cosmetics
War paints: better none than bad ones
Unusuals: they always suck, now is no different
Taunts: actual taunts, best added since the laugh taunt
maps: idc lol
The exceptions for me are:
Robutler, Gordon freeman medic, and the unusual effect rainbow reverie.
Also can we stop getting maps with voice lines, we don't want your quirky writing and fanfiction in tf2, that harm the gameplay. I keep being shocked that it only 1 minute left in the round (The announcers almost never deliver important information And hard to hear what they say mid of the chaos). Also when designing map for a game, think of function before form. Most of the new maps are heaven either for sniper engineer and demos.
Still boycotting. #BringBackQuickplay
2-Visually cluttered.
3-Announcers do a bad job at delivering critical information to the player.
4-Dominated by Sniper and Engineer. (Map design need more work)
5-Parts of the map are too red. hiding the players.
6-A lot of visual elements that are not consistent with tf2 and unneeded complexity that add noise.
7-The butler robots are a new game mechanics that is not learned by the player from previous experiences. This why the Casino part feel like it has no health pack. (This is not dota 2, we don't want to farm NPCs)
8-the beige broken bricks texture used next to the blast door where the armored cars carry the payload. Look like it from another game, specifically from worms 4 mayhem.
9-Not tf2 color palette In some areas. What is shame because i love the colourful south america buildings but it hard to pull off for tf2 sadly.
What i liked ? The tank roll up after you cap the point and they become a bridge for your spawn. that is good.
