There is no known fix at the moment. It's happening to me too. I guess Valve just doesn't want us to play the game.

Seems like it actually fixes the problem. That sucks. Old version works perfectly and I had no reasons to update it to that laggish piece of crap. It takes A WHOLE MINUTE just to start up. On an SSD...

My Steam client is up to date, yet the issue persists.

Issue for me is that I literally can't play the game right now. Trying to join any server, casual or community, just crashes the game.

I don't believe so. I uninstalled my custom hud, verified my game files, and even reinstalled the game. No dice.
