ungodly unbalanced games
Is it me, or more recently games are getting more and more irreversibly unbalanced to the point it's completely ridiculous? To be precise, the game likes to stack high level players in one team and even pump more of them if someone leaves. The opposite is happening in the other team at the same time. Additionally, autobalance does not fire even once, also if one team is smaller by a half. I am aware that level is not the greatest indicator, but such players tend to be more skilled and coordinated but also undoubtedly more experienced.
Obviously, it's a casual game so I tolerate unbalance more, but at this point, it's not enjoyable really.
Today something snapped inside me while playing... I have screenshots from the beginning and the near end of the game from today as evidence:

Probably it's not fixable without a large rewrite or won't be fixed just because nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥, but I am going insane when I'm getting rolled like 9 times in a row before I have at least a decent game.

what do you expect from a 17 year old videogame lmao

The game is out for 16+ years, pretty expected.

There is nothing you can do, need VALVe to make TF2 have matchmaking system with ranks similar to CS2.

Wait, you can play community servers.

Yet, people say autobalance should be removed.

yes that's generally how matches goes, TBH though.

if you put your sore loser side away and really think about it.

say games like CTF, i'm kinda happy that it is this way.

less 3-4 hour long games.

The game is expecting you to step up and carry 3-4 players worth :steamhappy:

Autobalance should be used more often i think. Well, I do not expect anything, and community servers are also flawed and casual is just easier to go, but yes, there are more close matches on community servers

being sore loser is main theme recently lol
CTF is just flawed by many aspects, so that another pair of shoes. Still prefer close, slighly long matches than just rolling, even when I'm the one who roll

But this is the result of the game being around for so long, it happens to most games. If you're seeing more frequent better players, it probably means fresh blood into the game is slowing down ( healthy games generally have more newer players then experienced ones ).

If auto balanced kicked in more, then people would be leaving more frequently instead of staying and servers would empty out quicker. People already can't tolerate being auto-balanced just about every single match as it is, and it almost never improves the enjoyment of the game once it kicks in.

It almost never helps it out now either, people already quit frequently when they get punished because someone else decides to quit a match instead of stick around as it is. The games are almost never salvaged at all.
Well, I agree too. Still maybe a scramble should come back? I mean, probably quickplay should be here just with this fancy levels and map choosing and it would be perfect or at least better than casual

I have 8k hours in this game, and I have never seen it used outside of just pissing people off towards the end of a round to deny people a victory during that entire time. If scramble is to come back, they need to make it only kick in after the round completes.

Auto-balance should be reworked into a new set up that gives more choice. Enforce it so that teams can only have the same number of players, while all the extra's sit on the side lines ( spectator ) and wait for their living teammates to die. Then the one waiting the longest will start the countdown the respawn while the freshly dead teammate will move to the end of the line to wait to respawn. Then re-enable manual balance to the waiting players so that at any time they can swap to the other team to even things up. This will allow those who want to stick to their team the option to do so while allow people to change if they either don't want to wait or to make the teams more even.

It's still only band-aid, as it doesn't address the issue that caused the game to be unbalanced in the first place ( the people that left ). But at least it would be far more tolerable this way.

Yeah completely, I remember scrambles mid game and it infuriated me too.

I find it okay, but sure, more frequently.

I dont use valve servers. Sometimes on community servers I think people are purposely stacking on join, and then usually on these servers nobody will scramble either. Kitty pound will NEVER scramble. I like going here to listen to their unhinged cringe/jokes but they refuse to enable fair games so I usually just get mad and leave.

Yes scrambles should probably only happen after a round ends, or in the first minute or something if it voted a little late.

Reasons I play at night time. Mid day the amount of sweaty nerds and children playing because of the toilet meme is why most games end up unbalanced to all hell imo. Playing later in the day seems to be more balanced and way more fun.

Kitt please, I beg you. I keep telling you that this system will never work, and straight up would kill casual if implemented. Please just listen to me...
