Deadlock goes against everything valve stand for and will die on arrival

Instead of developing TF2 or fixing the bots, valve is spending money on a project to replace team fortress. their "project" is a medieval fantasy third person shooter which also happens to be a 6v6 and of course has moba elements from dota 2 in it.

This may be developed by valve, but it doesnt look like the valve that made TF2. TF2s artstyle was a unique direction and was made because it made the game special. It was like no other game at the time. It was a perfect representation of the artstyle and the community has evolved it ever since, leaving here today with an iconic and recognizable artstyle where if you even look at a characters shadow you will know who it is without failing the guess. The gameplay si special too, being the first class based shooter needing tons of skill to play and has a very high skill ceiling as well as a very fun gameplay loop. Most of the games released today cannot even replicate this.

Of course other games like overwatch saw the success and love of TF2 so they cloned it and added no skill mechanics like ultimates and mobas to make it seem like they weren't copying. If it weren't for Blizzard being Blizzard, Overwatch would've died in a day. Even worse, they begun spreading the infection of the competitive esport compies wanted. They even spread it to TF2 where valve felt pressured and removed the loved quickplay system in exchange for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ competitive match system hoping to turn TF2 into an esport when it was a casual game. They also nerfed a lot of fun weapons like the sandman and the base jumper to make them generic and viable even though the competitive scene would not use the weapons or ban it anyways.

Valve is now instead of trying to fix the problem they create, to replace team fortress? Deadlock based on the leaks looks nothing like valve. valve innovated games and made the best games ever like half life 2, l4d2, portal and portal 2, and of course team fortress 2. but now they are taking their worst market which is dota 2 and counterstrike 2 and stuck every riot, blizzard, and fortnite into a blender to make the most bland, generic looking piece of garbage ever. It has that "we are unique, please play this game!" artstyle to it that every game copied off once overwatch was popular. They are hoping to get everyone to play this game and replace team fortress because fixing the bots is a hard issue while developing a slop esport compie game is easy. no one wants more fantasy moba shooters, we want team fortress on source 2, the bots fixed, and the heavy update, not this slop.

Also the community for the game and in the discord server is PURE redditlord soyboy thinskinned NPC filth. This. Will. Fail.

Haven't played it but it doesn't look or sound particularly appealing. The character designs aren't quite Concord tier but they're certainly not great all round.

deadlock doesnt show up in history or anything other than status. i have a few hours in it already.

I have played it and I can tell you it sucks.. it will be dead on arrival.
It's TF combined with Dota and it just doesn't work. It has elements from both games that don't mesh well together, both playerbases won't like.
It's a moba disguised as an FPS, so overwatch, that's some how even worse than what blizzard shat out.
