Learning to take the game less seriously?
This is probably a terrible idea for me to ask given how the TF2 forums are like, but: I've noticed in recent weeks that I've been taking matches too seriously, letting deaths get to me personally, leading to me having very little fun when there are pubstompers on the enemy team or constant spawncamping. What am I supposed to do stop getting increasingly frustrated with bad matches?

Uh play demopan
All I can really say is do a bit of goofing off. If you find yourself getting frustrated, take some deep breaths before getting back to the game. If that doesn't work, find other quick ways to calm your nerves like beating up a pillow.

Remember it's a video game. Video games are supposed to be fun, and if you're not having fun there's a problem. Take a break for a while if you feel frustrated. Shouldn't keep playing a game if it's making you constantly upset.

If the enemy team has try hards ruining my experience and my team is too bad/friendly for it to matter if I tried to deal with them, I just requeue. Community servers are usually more consistent in balance, but casual has the advantage that you don't have to commit to anything.

I've noticed a recent influx of like 5000-10000 hour TF2 players who get put into teams together and they result in these hyper sweaty, hyper serious matches that either are constant pressure for 3 hours or end in 2 minutes, usually on Turbine.

I don't even hate serious matches, I just hate getting into a match that's basically filled with competitive mode dropouts who play to win instead of play to have fun. Every time I'm on the receiving end of a match with something like 3-4 sentries in the middle of the map, 2 Demos pocketed by Kritzkrieg Medics, and Phlog Pyros, I slowly start questioning why I even bother playing the game.

It's like 8 out of 10 matches I get into, I get pitted against these people and my team is either filled with fresh installs or people who are just as middle of the road as I am. I do already requeue often, and it doesn't help.

Well first stop letting it be such a scab on your life that you're thinking about it hard enough to make a topic and further solidify it as being a big issue. This is in your head and now it is even more. It reminds me of people going to rage camps to scream really loudly like cavemen and acting like this is teaching them how to control their emotion when it's essentially the opposite.

Granted this is way less dumb than that. But seriously you're thinking about it too hard. Just engrain in your head over time that it's dumb to have hurt feelings over this, because it is dumb, and you know it is. Teach yourself. It can take a while. When someone just thinks and talks regularly about how they can't control their feelings it's probably gonna get worse as you're re-enforcing it. I know modern mental health discussions will act otherwise but oh well, maybe let's not get into it.

Also there is nothing wrong with spawn camping. I'm not gonna count to 5 while people swarm out their door and we're capping around the corner.

But spawn camping is bad and evil and no fun and unfair and stuff

Take a break from the game. Also, don't accuse people better than you of not playing for fun. That's a toxic mindset to have, especially because more often than not that is just them playing casually.
